JOHN CHESTER
STICK
A man of studious inclinations and wide information, John C. Stick, of Los Angeles, senior member of the law firm of Stick, Moerdyke & Gibson, is regarded as one of the representative professional men of the southern portion of California. He is active in the practice of his profession, and is accorded a large clientele.
Mr. Stick is a native of the state of Pennsylvania, and was born in 1883 at Hanover. He received his preparatory educational training in public schools at Manchester, Md., and at Glenville Academy, Glenville, Pa., then entered St. John's College, which conferred on him the degree of A. B. in 1904. Until 1906 he taught school in New York and Pennsylvania, at the same time engaging in the private study of law, and he then moved to Los Angeles.
Until 1908 Mr. Stick continued his legal studies in the office of Hahn & Hahn, of Pasadena. In that year he was admitted to the California bar, continuing in practice in association with Hahn & Hahn until 1910. He specializes in corporation and probate law, also federal practice and patent litigation, and is the trial lawyer of his firm.
Mr. Stick holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the City Club and various Masonic bodies. In 1911 he married Ethyl B. Kohl, formerly of Ohio, and they have one son, John C. Stick, Jr.
