DILLON STEVENS

 

 

     Dillon Stevens,  business executive is the son of Dr. Charles Dillon and Lena (Tarrant) Stevens.  He was born July 22, 1889, in St. Louis, Missouri.

     He received his education at A. and M. College of Texas; Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri; and the University of Montpellier, France.

     Mr. Stevens began his career as a salesman.  Later held successively positions as director of sales, Ideal Stencil Machine Company, Belleville, Illinois; vice president of Adamars Advertising Company, St. Louis, Missouri; director of sales of W. N. Mathews Corporation, St. Louis, Missouri; vice president and general manager of Corneli Seed Company, St. Louis, Missouri; vice president of P & C Hand Forged Tool Company, Portland, Oregon; chairman of the Board of Plomb Tool Company, Los Angeles, California; special representative of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada; vice president of National Associates, Inc.;  treasurer of Advance Auto Body Works; director Royaltone Photo Service, Inc.; partner, Dillon Stevens & Company; president Torque Corporation of America.

     During World War I, Mr. Stevens served with the American Expeditionary Forces, United States Army.

     Mr. Stevens married Adele C. Maas on April 11, 1918, and has one daughter, Barbara A.

     During World War II Mr. Stevens served as chairman of the Co-Ordinating Committee for War of the Service Tools Industry of the United States.

     Member:  National Association of Manufacturers (Pacific Southwest Advisory Committee); Merchants and Manufacturers Association of Los Angeles (director); life member, Associates of California Institute of Technology; director and secretary, Friends of the Colleges at Claremont.

     He is a Republican; Episcopalian; Mason.  Member of the following clubs:  California, Atheneum, and Shadow Mountain.

      Residences:  4405 West 9th Street, Los Angeles, California.

                           6610 Bay Shore Walk, Long Beach, California.
