VERNON P. SPENCER
Vernon P. Spencer, attorney, was born November 11, 1901, in Leipsic, Germany. The son of Vernon and Elsa (Haase) Spencer.
He obtained his preparatory and legal education at Stanford University, where he received the A.B. degree in 1925 and the J.D. degree in 1926; admitted to the California State Bar in 1926.
Mr. Spencer has been in practice of the law in Inglewood, California, since 1926; partner in the firm of Condee & Spencer from 1928 to 1933; practiced individually from 1933 to 1949; and now senior partner in the firm of Spencer and Harris.
Mr. Spencer is a director of Inglewood Federal Savings & Loan Association, Fricano Custom Products, Frank H. Afton Company, Sky Products, Western Escrow Company, and Golden Start Laundry, Ltd. He served as a member of the Board of Education, Inglewood, from 1932 to 1933; member of the Board of Trustees of Centinella Valley Union High School District from 1947 to 1948; and is a director of Inglewood Y.M.C.A.
Member of the American Bar Association, American Judicature Society, Los Angeles Bar Association (past trustee), Inglewood Bar Association (past president), State Bar of California; Inglewood Chamber of Commerce (director; past president); member of Kiwanis Club and is past president and past lieutenant governor of Division One, California-Nevada District, Kiwanis International; B.P.O.E., 1492; Fairview Lodge No. 629 F. & A.M.; Los Angeles Consistory, Al Malakah Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S.; president Centinela Music Association, sponsor of Inglewood Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Spencer married Helen Nelson on June 12, 1926, and they have three children: Patricia Jean, Vernon Ellsworth and Gwendolyn Joyce.
