CLEMENT
LAURENCE SHINN
Clement L. Shinn, of Los Angeles, has attained a position of success in legal circles of the southern portion of California. He is a native of Illinois, and was born in 1879 at Sullivan. While still very young he moved with his parents to Los Angeles, where he received his preparatory educational training in public grammar and high schools. He then continued his studies at Occidental College and later engaged in the study of law, being admitted to the California bar in 1901.
Since that year Mr. Shinn has engaged in the individual practice of his profession at Los Angeles. His practice is general in nature, embracing all forms of civil legal activity, and the comprehensive experience he has gained in his quarter century of practice has made him thoroughly conversant with the details of his profession, and brought him the reputation of being a most able lawyer and counselor.
Mr. Shinn holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Wilshire Country Club and Los Angeles Yacht Club, which he has served as Commodore. In 1909 he married Alice Janet Gamble, daughter of John R. Gamble, who at the time of his death was a member of Congress from South Dakota, and niece of Robert J. Gamble, who served two terms in the United States Senate. They have a son, Randolph Laurence Shinn.
