HERMAN FRANK SELVIN

 

Herman Frank Selvin, attorney, was born in Crodno, Lithuania, October 28, 1904; the son

of Sol J. and Fania (Frank) Selvin. He was brought to the United States in 1909 and was naturalized in 1914.

Both his preparatory and his legal education were obtained at the University of California from which he received the A.B. degree in 1924 and the J.D. degree in 1927. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 1927.

Mr. Selvin began practice of the law in Los Angeles, California, where he has been associated with the firm of Loeb and Loeb since 1927. He has served on many professional committees; and is at the present time vice president of the Board of Police Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles.

During World War II Mr. Selvin served with the United States Navy, 1942 to 1945.

Mr. Selvin is a member of the American Law Institute, American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Los Angeles Bar Association (president, 1951), University of California Law School Association (president, 1952); member of the Jonathan Club and the Press Club, both of Los Angeles. He is a contributor of articles to various legal publications.

On February 3, 1934, Mr. Selvin married Ariane Eagleton. They have one son, Holmes Eagleton.
