Schoneman is a leading club woman of
Mrs. Schoneman is state chairman of the California history and landmarks committee of the Native Daughters of the Golden West and the California Federation of Women’s Clubs; president of the Emeritus Club; member of the Southern California Women’s Press Club; life member of the Friday Morning Club; honorary member of the Sigma Delta Phi Sorority; past president of the California History Landmarks Club; charter member of the Women’s Athletic Club; past president Women’s Club of San Pedro and Rudecinda Chapter of Native Daughters; and vice president of the City Planning Association. Mrs. Schoneman is also chairman of the unique California Museum, Casa Adobe, which was built in 1914 by the Hispania Society and is a replica of the Arguello home at Point Loma, which was known as La Punta house, and erected to accommodate furnishings and relics from the first California homes in the hope of leaving a museum preserving the charm and romance of old California.
In 1925 the Southwest Museum came into possession of Casa Adobe, which was opened to the public on March 5, 1926, and has since welcomed visitors on Sunday and Wednesday of each week between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 P. M. Her home is at 1521 Fifth Avenue in Los Angeles.
