SAMUEL KNIGHT RINDGE

 

Samuel Knight Rindge, chairman of Board of Citizens National Trust and Savings Bank of Los Angeles, was born April 9, 1888, in Los Angeles California, the son of Frederick Hastings and Rhoda May (Knight) Rindge. He is a graduate of Harvard University, receiving the A.B. degree in 1911.

Mr. Rindge has been engaged in corporation and property management in Los Angeles, California, since 1911. He is chairman of the Board of the Citizens National Trust and Savings Bank of Los Angeles; president and director of Twin Buttes Water Company, president and director of Citizens Domestic Water Company; director of Arlington Mutual Water Company; secretary and treasurer of Seaside Water Company ; director of Rosedale Cemetery Association and the Artesian Water Company.

During World War I, Mr. Rindge served first as sergeant and later as 1st sergeant, Base Hospital No. 35, United States Army, 1917-18; ordnance sergeant 131st Ordnance Depot Company, 1918-19; captain, Ordnance, U.S.A. Reserve, to 1937. Member of the Army Ordnance Association.

Mr. Rindge is a Mason: member of Pi Eta fraternity; and a member of the following clubs: California, Los Angeles Country, Bel-Air Bay; Newport Harbor Yacht, Balboa, California.

He married Agnes Marion Hole on July 12, 1911, and they have three children: Samuel Hole, Ramona and Frederick Hastings.
