RALPH E. PHILLIPS

 

           

     Ralph E. Phillips, partner in Dean Witter & Company, was born in the State of Kansas September 8, 1902; the son of Charles and Mary Ellen (Wilson) Phillips.

     He received his A.B. at the University of California in 1924; then studied at Babson Statistical Institute, Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, 1924 to 1925.

     Mr. Phillips has been associated with Dean Witter & Company, Los Angeles, California, since 1925 and a partner in the company since 1935.

     He was governor and member of California Executive Committee of Investment Bankers of American in 1938; chairman of State of California Legislative Committee in 1939; member of California Regional Committee of National Association of Security Dealers, Inc., 1939 to 1940, chairman in 1941, member of Board of Governors since 1942, chairman in 1945, and chairman of National Business Conduct Committee in 1943.

      Mr. Phillips is a member of Los Angeles Round Table Society (director); Kappa Sigma Fraternity; and member of the following clubs:  Athletic, Yacht, Bond, Stock Exchange, California (Los Angeles); and member of board of governors of Newport Harbor Yacht Club.

     On January 12, 1925 Mr. Phillips married Anita Marie Cox and has two sons:  Ralph Edwin and Dwight Peter.
