HAROLD STANLEY PERRY, D. O.

DR. H. Stanley Perry has become widely and favorably known as medical director of the Los Angeles County Osteopathic Hospital, the second largest unit of the Los Angeles Hospital.  He was born in Spring Valley, Minnesota, January 5, 1893, a son of David E. and Nellie F. Perry.  The father has passed away, his death occurring on the 11th of February, 1929.  The mother, Mrs. Nellie F. Perry, became a resident of San Diego, California, in 1911 and there engaged in the practice of medicine from 1912 until her retirement twenty-two years later.   In 1935 she took up her abode in Los Angeles, where she now makes her home.

            H. Stanley Perry became a medical student at the University of Southern California and completed his professional course at the College of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, from which institution he was graduated with the degree of M. D. in 1925.  He afterward served as an interne at the Wilshire Hospital of Los Angeles.  On the 15th of February, 1928, he entered the Los Angeles General Hospital as chief surgeon and on the 15th of February, 1934, was appointed medical director of Los Angeles County Osteopathic Hospital, which is the second largest unit of the General Hospital, with thirty-seven physicians on its staff, and is one of the finest institutions of the kind in the United States.  The hospital has a capacity of two hundred and thirty beds, occupying two large buildings, and Dr. Perry’s record as medical director is one of which he may well be proud.
