ROBERT B. MURPHEY

Although he has engaged in the practice of law for only 15 years, Robert B. Murphey, member of the well known law firm of Hunsaker, Britt & Cosgrove, of Los Angeles, has conclusively demonstrated his ability and knowledge of the law. He is a native of Georgia and was born in 1887 at Pineville. After attending the grammar schools of Americus, Ga., he moved to Arizona, attending the public schools of Tucson, Ariz., and the High School at Phoenix, Ariz. He also studied for three years at the University of Arizona. He then entered Stanford University, which conferred on him the A. B. degree in 1908. His legal training was obtained at the law school of the same institution, from which he graduated with the degree of Juris Doctor in 1910.

The following year Mr. Murphey was admitted to the California bar and entered practice at Los Angeles. For a number of years he was associated with Isadore B. Dockweiler, and he has since become a member of the firm of Hunsaker, Britt & Cosgrove. They engage in general civil practice, specializing in corporation law, and represent as Counsel such interests as the Citizens National Bank, Citizens Trust & Savings Bank, J. W. Robinson Co. and others of like importance.

In addition to his private practice Mr. Murphey served as Deputy Counsel for Los Angeles County from 1914 to 1917, and as Assistant Counsel from the latter year to 1919. He holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as Delta Chi fraternity, University Club, Wilshire Country Club and Club Casa Del Mar.

Mr. Murphey enlisted in the Navy in 1917, took officers training course at San Diego, Cal., received commission as Ensign and served in the office of the Judge Advocate General at Washington, D. C. In 1917 he married Esther Anderson, of Los Angeles. They have one daughter, Florence, attending school.
