WILLIAM CLLINTON MULLENDORE
In 1923,
William Clinton Mullendore, who is now executive vice president of the Southern
California Edison Company, came to Los
Angeles. He was
born in Howard, Kansas, May 18, 1892, and is a son of John
and Mary E. (Robinson) Mullendore.
Reared
in his native town, William C. Mullendore was graduated from the Howard high
school in 1909 and secured his higher education in the University of Michigan,
from which he won the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1914 and that of Doctor of
Jurisprudence in 1916. He was admitted
to the bar and in 1917 was appointed assistant counsel to the United States
food administration. In that capacity he
continued until 1919 and during a portion of the year in 1918 was a flying
cadet in the air service of the federal government. He was a representative of the American
relief administration at London and Berlin in 1920 and in
1922 was called to Washington, D. C., as an assistant to Herbert Hoover. Coming to Los Angeles in 1923, Mr. Mullendore was here
engaged in the general practice of law with the firm of Fredericks and Hanna
until 1927. He was special counsel of
the Southern California Edison Company from 1925 to 1929, with headquarters in
this city and became general attorney of that company in 1929. In 1930 he was elected to a vice president of
the company and since January 1, 1931, has been its executive vice president.
At Manhattan, Kansas,
on the 11th of June, 1922, Mr. Mullendore was married to Miss Esther
Andrews, by whom he has two daughters, Barbara Nadine and Carla Jane, and they
reside at 461 North Citrus Avenue,
Los Angeles. In religious belief Mr. Mullendore is a
Presbyterian and his political support is given to the Republican Party. He belongs to the University Club of Los
Angeles and his college fraternities are Phi Alpha Delta and Alpha Sigma Phi.
