ROLLIN LEE McNITT
Rollin L. McNitt, of Los Angeles, is Dean of Southwestern University School of Law, and has achieved a large measure of success in private practice. He is a native of Michigan, and was born in 1887 at Byron Centre. After completing his early training in public schools he attended the University of Michigan and was admitted to the bar in 1912.
Since that date Mr. McNitt has been actively engaged in the general civil practice of law at Los Angeles. He has been connected with Southwestern University Law School for about 12 years, and has been Dean seven years. He is also Chairman of the California Association of Law Schools for 1927-1928. During the World war Mr. McNitt served as a member of the Legal Advisory Board of the Glendale district, and was also a Chairman of all civilian Liberty Loan drives in Eagle Rock district. From 1923 to 1927 he was a member of the Board of City Planning Commissioners, and for a time served as President. He is interested in Boy Scout activities, and has served as Scoutmaster of Eagle Rock Troop No. 1, as well as Editor of the Los Angeles "Scout Rodeo."
Mr. McNitt holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Jonathan Club, City Club, Seabreeze Beach Club, Surf & Sand Club, Los Angeles Surf Club, Oakmont Country Club, El Caballero Country Club, Ojai Country Club, Chevy Chase Golf Club, University of Michigan Union, Eagle Rock Lodge No. 422, F. & A. M.; Eagle Rock Chapter, R. A. M.; Los Angeles Counsel No. 11, R. & S. M.; and Eagle Rock Chapter, Order of Amaranth.
Mr. McNitt is the author of "The Law of Zoning" and various articles in the Standard Encyclopedia of Procedure. In 1908 he married Marjorie Elizabeth Hilton and they have one son, Rollin Lee McNitt, Jr.
