NEIL STEERE McCARTHY
Although he has been engaged in the practice of law for less than 20 years Neil S. McCarthy, of Los Angeles, has already attained a high place in legal circles of the state of California. Endowed with natural aptitude for the legal profession, together with splendid energy and initiative, he has built up a most extensive clientele and has successfully handled many important pieces of litigation.
Mr. McCarthy is a native of the state of Arizona, and was born in 1888 at Phoenix. He received his preparatory educational training in public and private grammar and high schools of that city, then entered the University of Michigan and engaged in the study of law. He graduated from this institution with the degree of LL. B. as a member of the class of 1910, and was admitted to the bar of Michigan that same year.
Mr. McCarthy did not remain in the middle west, but moved to California, was admitted to the state bar and entered upon the practice of his profession alone at Los Angeles. In 1912 he became a member of the firm of Jones, Smith & McCarthy, which continued for several years. Since the dissolution of this partnership he is again practicing individually, specializing in probate and corporation matters.
Mr. McCarthy holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Young Men's Institute, as well as various other organizations.
