HARRY J. McCLEAN

 

Harry J. McClean, attorney, son of Marcus A. and Anne G. (Hoagland) McClean, was born October 26, 1891, on a farm near Warren, Ohio.

In 1908, Mr. McClean and his parents moved to Long Beach, California, and he graduated from Long Beach High School in 1911. Later he attended Occidental College for two years, and then matriculated at Stanford University, receiving the degree of A.B. in 1915.

Mr. McClean studied law at the University of Southern California, College of Law, graduating in 1917 with the degree of Juris Doctor. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1917.

Mr. McClean was a part-time lecturer in the College of Liberal Arts and College of Law at the University of Southern California from 1915 to 1927. He has engaged in law practice in Los Angeles, California since admission to the bar; he is senior partner of the firm of McClean, Salibsury, Petty and McClean.

 

In 1917 he married Hollace Shaw and they are the parents of three children: Harry J., Jr., born in 1919; Marianne V. (Mrs. Powers) and Robers (sic) S., born in 1921.

Mr. McClean holds membership in the Los Angeles Bar Association (former trustee; former president), State Bar of California (member of Board of Governors; president, 1948-49), American Bar Association; Order of the Coif, Law Society; the Los Angeles Athletic Club and the Saddle and Sirloin Club.
