NORMAN T. MASON
Norman T. Mason maintains offices at
325 West Eighth Street in Los Angeles, where he is engaged in civil law
practice. He was born in Rochester,
Minnesota, March 5, 1873, a son of the Rev. Darwin and Elizabeth (Tickstun) Mason, natives of New York state and Erie County,
Pennsylvania, respectively. The father
was a Baptist minister. Norman T. Mason
was reared in an atmosphere of culture and refinement and after finishing his
preliminary schooling was graduated from Cornell College with the A. B. degree,
and from the University of Michigan with the degree of LL. B. Mr. Mason then went to Deadwood, South
Dakota, and opened a law office, where for many years he was numbered among the
successful lawyers of the state. While
he did a general law business, he specialized in mining law. He was a member of the various law bodies of
South Dakota and for a time served as the president of the South Dakota State
Bar Association. In 1921 he came to Los
Angeles and has since carried on a civil practice here. He is admitted to practice in all the courts
of California and in the United States Supreme Court.
In 1901 Mr. Mason was united in
marriage with Nettie Shoudy, of Deadwood, South
Dakota, and the family home is now in South Pasadena. Mr. Mason is a thirty-second degree Scottish
Rite Mason and a Shriner, and is also a member of the Benevolent and Protective
Order of Elks and the Los Angeles Athletic Club. In line with his profession he holds membership
in the American, the State and the Los Angeles County Bar Associations. In politics he is a Republican.
