JACK P. LEONARD
A leading attorney and a member of the California Bar for nearly three decades Jack Leonard has been connected with much important litigation in California since first embarking upon his professional career. He was born in New York City August 12, 1883, and was brought to California by his parents when he was a babe of only six months and the family located in San Francisco where they remained until 1895, and then moved to San Joaquin Valley, settling in Fresno. Jack Leonard attended the public schools in San Francisco and Fresno and worked his way through college while preparing for his professional career. He attended the University of California and Hasting Law School, the law department of the university and was admitted to practice at the bar of California in 1907; with offices in San Francisco for five years he followed the profession and in 1912 moved to Los Angeles where he has met with marked success and is rated as one of the leading lawyers of this city. He was one of the organizers of the Lawyers Club, which has on its roster the outstanding members of the Los Angeles Bar. In 1935 he was honored with the presidency of that club after going through various chairs.
Jack P. Leonard was united in marriage with Margaret Hawworth and they have three children: Norma, Iris and Dolores. Mr. Leonard is a member of several civic and fraternal organizations and takes an active part in local civic affairs. He is the author of a number of works on music and is considered an outstanding amateur in that field.
