MRS. IDA
SCHWAB LAZARD
Active in civic, social and club life in Los Angeles, Mrs. Ida S. Lazard has won a name and place among its prominent women. She was born in Watertown, Wisconsin, June 16, 1884, a daughter of Moses B. And Flora (Kahnheimer) Schwab, and in pursuit of an education attended the Western Reserve University at Cleveland, Ohio, which awarded her the degree of A. B. On August 9, 1911, she was united in marriage with Edmond M. Lazard, M.D., of Los Angeles, by whom she has three children: Flora, Rosalie and Manfred.
Mrs. Lazard is keenly interested in welfare work and is an ex-president and a director of the Council of Jewish Women of Los Angeles; is a member of the board of the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital; a director of the Federation of Jewish Welfare Organization; a councilor of the Los Angeles Camp of Fireside Girls; a director of the Community Chest; chairman of the Child Welfare of Los Angeles district of California Federation of Women’s Clubs; president of the Los Angels League of Women Voters; a director of the Traveler’s Aid Society; formerly president and chairman of the public affairs committee of the Friday Morning Club; a leader of the Child Study Group, and chairman executive committee of Southern California Conference on Modern Parenthood. She is a member of the I.O.B.B.; the Women’s Athletic Club and the Women’s University Club. The family home is at 547 South Kingsley drive, Los Angeles.
