LOUIS F. LABARERE

 

 

LOUIS F. LABARERE, attorney, was born July 3, 1893, in Los Angeles, California.  He is the son of Pierre and Olympe (Bruzon) Labarere.

His primary education was received in public grade schools in Los Angeles and Polytechnic High School; then entered University of Southern California, form which he was graduated in 1914 with an LL.B degree; attend University of Michigan for one year, receiving an LL.B degree in 1915; admitted to the State bar of California in 1914.

Mr. Labarere began law practice in 1915 in Los Angeles, California, in association with Frank C. Collier (later a Judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles), and in 1919 they formed the firm of Collier and Labarere, which continued until 1924.  Since that time he has practiced individually.

In the First World War he served overseas during 1917 and 1918.  He has been a director of the French Hospital of Los Angeles for twenty-five years, serving two terms as president thereof; also director and vice president of the French Colonie of Los Angeles.  He is at present the president of the Legion Francaise of Los Angeles.

Mr. Labarere holds membership in the Los Angeles Bar Association, the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, Masonic Order; Native Sons of the Golden West, and American Legion.  For many years he has been actively engaged in bar association committee work.

On December 5, 1925, Mr. Labarere married Christine Sullivan.  Their home is in Beverly Hills, California, at 120 North Elm Drive.
