EDWARD HERVEY

Unusually rapid advancement in the field of law has brought Edward Hervey, member of the firm of Lovett, Hervey & Scott, of Los Angeles, to a position of prominence among the more successful younger member of the bar of the state. Although he has been in practice for only seven years he has handled numerous important cases, and has amply demonstrated his ability and knowledge of the law.

Mr. Hervey, who is the son of Judge Wm. Rhodes Hervey, is a native of the state of California, and was born in 1895 at Los Angeles. After completing his early educational training in public schools of that city he attended the University of California, from which he graduated with the degree of A. B. in 1917. His legal training was obtained through study at the law school of the same institution and also at Harvard Law School.

Upon his admission to the California bar in 1920 Mr. Hervey entered upon the practice of his profession in partnership with William W. Lovett, Jr., under the firm name of Lovett & Hervey, the firm becoming Lovett, Hervey & Scott five years later. They engage in general civil practice, specializing in probate and corporation law, and are accorded a large clientele.

In April, 1917, Mr. Hervey enlisted in the infantry, United States Army, and shortly afterwards was transferred to a machine gun company, serving until 1919 with the 349th, 13th Division.

Mr. Hervey holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Sons of the Revolution and the Los Angeles Country Club, and is a 32° Mason. In 1922 he married Mary Patterson and they have two daughters, Mary Patricia and Nancy.
