Biographies
DALZELL HATFIELD
Dalzell Hatfield, art dealer, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, August 23, 1893. The son of William H. and Evelyn (Dalzell) Hatfield.
He received his education in the public grade and high schools of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Hatfield was associated with the Art Gallery in Chicago prior to the World War; lecturer on art and also exhibitor in all of the States; president and director of Dalzell Hatfield Galleries, Los Angeles, from 1927 to 1948. Publisher of Millard Sheets and His Painting, the Art of Russell Cowles.
Mr. Hatfield's paintings are exhibited in National Academy of Design, New York; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; and Los Angeles Museum of Art.
During World War I, he served with the United States Navy.
Mr. Hatfgield is a member of the Patrons Association; American Federation of Arts at Washington, D.C.; Patrons Association Museum of Modern Art in New York City and in Los Angeles, California. He is an Episcopalian; Republican; and member of the Jonathan Club of Los Angeles, and the Players Clubs in New York City and Beverly Hills, California.
On February 24, 1926, Mr. Hatfield married Ruth Massey.
