BENJAMIN W. HAHN

Benjamin W. Hahn, senior member of the firm of Hahn & Hahn, of Pasadena, has advanced to a position of prominence in legal and business circles. Mr. Hahn is a native of Illinois, and was born in 1868 in Chicago. After completing his preparatory educational training in public schools of that city he moved to California in 1887, and engaged in the private study of law, being admitted to the California bar in 1891.

For some time Mr. Hahn practiced individually, but in 1899 he was joined by his brother, Edwin F. Hahn, under the firm name of Hahn & Hahn. The present firm consists of Benjamin W. Hahn and his son, Herbert L. Hahn. They engage in general civil practice, specializing in trusts, probate and corporation law, and are Counsel for the Pacific Southwest Trust & Savings Bank (Pasadena Branch), Farmers & Merchants Bank of Long Beach, Farmers & Merchants Trust Company of Long Beach, Pasadena Star News Publishing Company, and a great many corporations and other interests throughout Southern California.

Mr. Hahn served as a member of the California State Senate from 1903 to 1907. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Pasadena Bar Association, of which he is now President. He is also a Mason and Elk. In 1917 he married Grace G. Woodcock.

Mr. Hahn is the owner of a 30-acre ranch, beautifully laid out. On this place he has succeeded in growing bananas to maturity, and after many disappointments, has succeeded in getting cocoanuts (sic) to thrive there. His only object in this has been to propagate something that will appeal to the people and thereby better conditions in this country.
