WALTER FRANCES HAAS

 

 

      A through grounding in the principles of jurisprudence together with wide and comprehensive experience gained through more than 36 years of active practice has made Walter F. Haas, senior member of the firm of Haas & Dunnigan, of Los Angeles, an able lawyer and counselor. He has conducted much important litigation and has built up an extensive practice of a representative character.

      Mr, Haas is a native of Missouri, and was born in 1869 in the town of California. He received his preparatory educational training in public schools of his native state and of Los Angeles, and later engaged in the study of law in the offices of Houghton, Silent & Campbell, of Los Angeles.

      In 1891 Mr. Haas was admitted to the California bar, since which time he has been active in the practice of his profession in Los Angeles. While he engages in general civil practice, he specializes in litigation involving water rights, in which branch of practice he is a recognized authority.

      Mr. Haas served as City Attorney of Los Angeles in 1899 and 1900, and held the same office for six years at Monrovia, and one year at both Sierra Madre and Alhambra. He holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Jonathan Club, Masonic Club and Gamut Club.
