HERBERT
GANAHL
Dr. McDaniel’s grandson, Herbert
Ganahl, was a lad of seven when his widowed mother returned with her children
to Los Angeles and in this city he acquired his early education. After attending Gonzaga University at
Spokane, Washington, he matriculated in the University of Santa Clara, from
which he received the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1912 and that of Bachelor of
Laws in the following year. Admitted to
the California bar in 1913, he at once entered upon the active work of his
profession in Los Angeles but laid aside his practice in October, 1917, to
enlist in the United States Navy for service in the World War and was mustered
out in January, 1919. He has since
followed his profession continuously in Los Angeles, developing his powers
through the exercise of effort, and is regarded as an able attorney and safe
counselor. He is entrusted with legal
interests of importance and maintains an office in the Garfield Building at 408
West Eighth Street.
At Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Ganahl
was married to Miss Viva Nelson, a native of San Diego, California, and two
daughters, Virginia and Adella, were born to
them. Unbiased in politics, Mr. Ganahl
votes as his judgment dictates and has a broad outlook upon life. He is a member of the Lawyers Club of Los
Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the California State Bar Association
and the American Bar Association.
