RALPH S. FRANTZ

 

Ralph S. Frantz, owner and general manager of Frantz Industries, was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado, on August 12, 1909; son of Osee C. and Blanch B. (Talhelm) Frantz.

He was a student at McPherson (Kansas) College from 1927 to 1929; then at General Motors Institute of Technology (Flint, Michigan) from 1929 to 1931.

Mr. Frantz was associated with Cadillac Motor Car Division, General Motors Company, Detroit, Michigan, from 1929 to 1943; student of engineering from 1929 to 1931, project engineer from 1931 to 1939, engineer in charge of major units on automobile and Army ordnance vehicle programs, 1939 to 1943. He was partner and general manager of C.& H. Machine Company, Los Angeles, California, from 1943 to 1945; partner and general manager of Frantz Industries, Los Angeles, 1946 to 1948; and has been owner and general manager of Frantz Industries, Los Angeles and Santa Monica, since 1949.

Mr. Frantz was selected as an outstanding executive responsible for the recent engineering success of Cadillac, by General Motors, 1943. Contributor of articles to trade publications.

Member of Society of Automotive Engineers; National Associate of Manufacturers; American Ordnance Association; and National Roster of Scientific Personnel.

He married Hazel E. Ratliff on September 10, 1929, and they have six daughters, Jerrie Lee, Joyce Ann, Joan Louise, Judy B. Jacquelyn Kay and Jill Marie.
