Biographies
PHILIP SHEARER FOGG
Philip Shearer Fogg, president and chairman of the Board of Consolidated Engineering Corporation, was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, July 28, 1903; son of Alvah Lemont and Delia (Shearer) Fogg.
Received his A.B., cum laude, from Leland Stanford University in 1925 and M.B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1929.
Mr. Fogg was chief statistician for Rand McNally & Company, San Francisco, 1925 to 1927; investment analyst for Tri-Continental Corporation, New York City, 1929 to 1930; lecturer at American Institute of Banking, Los Angeles, 1932 to 1938, at Institute of Government, University of Southern California, in 1937, and California School of Design, Pasadena, California, 1937 to 1941; professor of Business Economics and Registrar, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, 1930 to 1941. He was treasurer for Consolidated Engineering Corporation, Pasadena, California, 1937 to 1942, executive vice president, 1942 to 1945, and president since 1945. Also special advisor to Atomic Energy Commission 1947-1949. Member, advisory committee, Security-First National Bank of Los Angeles; director, American Mutual Fund; member, executive council, Harvard Business School Association.
Mr. Fogg married Jean Adix July 30, 1935, and has two sons: Jonathan and James.
Member of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce (past president); Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association; American Association for the Advancement of Science; American Association of University Professors; Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity; and the following clubs: Rotary, Lincoln, University of Pasadena, Harvard of new York City, Twilight, and Annandale Golf Club
Mr. Fogg is the author of articles on taxation and federal
finance.
