WILLIAM O. FLEETWOOD
William O. Fleetwood, president of Fleetwood Publishing Company and publisher of East Los Angeles Gazette, was born in Ogden, Utah, June 22, 1909, son of William W. and Alice (Cobban) Fleetwood.
He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1933, receiving his A.B. degree.
Mr. Fleetwood was publisher of the Montebello News from 1935 to 1945 and the Whittier Reporter from 1941 to 1945. He has been publisher of the East Los Angeles Gazette since 1935; president of Fleetwood Publishing Company since 1936; vice president and general manager of Southern California Publishing Company since 1943; secretary and treasurer of First Federal Building and Loan Association of East Los Angeles, and of First Federal Escrow Company.
In 1946 Mr. Fleetwood was a member of the Los Angeles Country Grand Jury. Member of East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce; Newspaper Publishers Association; Sigma Delta Chi Fraternity; Masonic Order (Shriner); Valley Hunt Club and Greater Los Angeles Press Club.
Mr. Fleedwood married Margaret Thomas on April 14, 1934, and has three children: William O., Jr., Diane and Judith.
