ARTHUR L. ERB

 

 

Arthur L. Erb was born January 22, 1893, at Tacoma, Washington, the son of Samuel Erb.

      His early education was obtained in the pubic schools, both at Victoria, B.C., Canada, and Tacoma, Washington; he then entered Stanford University, where he graduated in 1916 with the LL.B. degree. He was admitted to the California bar in June of the same year. He spent two and a half years an (sic) an infantry officer in the 91st and 4th Divisions, U. S. Army, with overseas combat service.

       Mr. Erb entered the practice of law at San Francisco, California as law clerk in the offices of Rufus Thayer, and in 1919 he became a partner, firm name changing to Thayer, Breuner and Erb, where he remained until 1925, when he opened his law office at Beverly Hills, California. He was elected Judge of the City Court of the city of Beverly Hills in 1932 and resigned February 1, 1937, to devote full time to practice. He is very prominent in community activities. Former councilman and former mayor of the city of Beverly Hills, California.

       Member of the Bar Association, Beverly Hills, California (president, 1932); American Bar Association; Los Angeles Country Club; Bel Air Bay Club.

       Married Highland Reeder in 1924. They have one daughter, Eunice Margaret, born in December 1926, now Mrs. Douglas Goodan.

       Residence: 10401 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, California.
