Biographies
PAUL ENGSTRUM
ENGSTRUM, PAUL, Superintendent Construction, F. O. Engstrum
Company, Los Angeles, Cal., was born at San Diego, Cal.,
November 24, 1886. He is the son of F.
O. Engstrum and Elizabeth Caroline Engstrum.
He received his elementary education at the Western Military Academy of
Illinois, graduating from there in 1903.
He then began technical study under private tutors, with particular
attention to engineering, and in 1907 was a qualified engineer of construction.
On leaving
his studies he returned to Los Angeles,
where he went to work with his father, one of the leading contractors and
construction men in that city. He served
in various capacities for a time and later was made superintendent of
construction for the company, being in charge of all the big work of that
concern. He is also superintendent of
the Concrete Appliance Company, a subsidiary of the Engstrum Company. As a structural engineer, Mr. Engstrum has
assisted in putting up numerous building in Los Angeles,
among them the Los Angeles County Hospital,
Exposition Building
at Exposition Park,
Los Angeles; Long Beach Cal.,
Edison Plant, and others. He is a member
of the Union League club of Los
Angeles.
