KIMPTON ELLIS

 

 

      By reason of his thorough knowledge of the principles of jurisprudence and his ability to accurately apply these principles Kimpton Ellis, senior member of the law firm of Ellis & Vickers, of Los Angeles, is a successful lawyer and counselor.

      Mr. Ellis is a native of Ohio, and was born in 1887 at Columbus. He received his preparatory educational training in public and private schools, then attended business college at Columbus. His legal training was obtained at Valparaiso University, which conferred on him the LL. B. degree in 1910, and at Yale University, where he studied in 1910-1911.

      In 1912 Mr. Ellis located in Los Angeles and entered practice with Frank D. McClure. He was later a member of the firm of Dexter & Ellis for several years, and after the dissolution of this association, he practiced alone until 1923, when the present firm of Ellis & Vickers was formed. Although Mr. Ellis engages in general practice he specializes in corporation and probate law, also oil and gas leases and litigation.

      Mr. Ellis holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Phi Alpha Delta and Alpha epsilon fraternities, and various clubs and other organizations. In 1923 he married Verle Roberts George and they have two sons, Kimpton, Jr., and Stanton Encell.
