NELSON EDDY
Nelson Eddy, singer, was born June 29, 1901, in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of William Darius and Isabel (Kendrick) Eddy.
He attended the Rhode Island Normal School (Providence) and Grove Street School (Pawtucket, Rhode Island).
From 1916 to 1920 Mr. Eddy was a reporter for Philadelphia daily newspapers; then advertising writer for Philadelphia agencies from 1920 to 1925. During this time he studied voice and has been a concert, opera and radio singer since 1923.
Mr. Eddy was a motion picture actor for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (Culver City, California) from 1933 to 1942, for Universal Studios (Universal City, California) in 1943, and for Republic Studios (Studio City, California). He has sung with the Philadelphia Civic and grand Opera Companies, Los Angeles Opera Company, San Francisco Opera Company, with choral organizations, orchestras, etc.
In 1939 Mr. Eddy married Mrs. Ann Denitz Franklin. They live in Los Angeles, California.
