NOAH DIETRICH

 

Noah Dietrich, C.P.A., chairman of the board of RKO Pictures Corporation, executive vice president of Hughes tool Company and vice president of Gulf Brewing Company, was born February 28, 1889, in Batavia, Wisconsin. The son of John and Sarah (Peters) Dietrich. He is a graduate of Janesville (Wisconsin) High School.

Mr. Dietrich began his career as a bank accountant, teller and cashier, and was employed in those positions from 1907 to 1911. From 1911 to 1917 he was in the real estate business and also a public utility auditor; petroleum development and distribution accounting, 1917 to 1919; with Haskins & Sells from 1919 to 1920; comptroller for automobile distributor from 1920 to 1925; and has been executive vice president and director of Hughes tool Company (manufacturer of oil drilling equipment, aircraft equipment and air transportation) since 1925; also vice president and director of Gulf Brewing Company; director of the National Bank of Commerce of Houston, Texas, and Trans World Airlines, Inc.; chairman of the board and Director of RKO Pictures; member of Advisory Council, University of Notre Dame; formerly regent of University of Houston, and also regional vice president of the National Association of Manufacturers. In the reconversion period after World War II he served as a member of the President’s Emergency Council on Labor and Management.

He holds membership in the Ramada Club of Houston, Texas; Los Angeles Country Club and Balboa Bay Club (California). His hobbies are golf, shooting and yachting.

Mr. Dietrich married Carol Hoyt on May 23, 1936; children: John, Anthony Paul and Caroline Susan. He has two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Elizabeth Jewell and Mrs. John G. O’Hara.
