ALFRED E. DENNIS

Alfred E. Dennis, a highly esteemed native son and representative attorney of Los Angeles, has here been successfully engaged in law practice for more than two decades. He was born in Los Angeles, December 30, 1888, a son of Sherman B. and Mary I. Dennis, and acquired his early education in the public schools of this city. Subsequently he spent three years as a student at the University of Southern California, from which he received the degree of LL.B. in 1912, and thereafter devoted another year to professional training at Georgetown University of Washington, D.C., which in 1913 conferred upon him the degrees of LL.M. and L.D.M. He was admitted to the California bar at Los Angeles on 27th of September, 1911, the District of Columbia bar in 1913, and the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States in October, 1931, and has long enjoyed a well merited reputation as an able and learned lawyer. The zeal with which he devoted his energies to his profession, the careful regard evinced for the interests of his clients, and an assiduous and unrelaxing attention to all the details of his cases, have brought him a large business and made him very successful in its conduct.

Fraternally Mr. Dennis is affiliated with the various Masonic bodies, including the Mystic Shrine, and he is a worth exemplar of the teachings and purposes of the craft. He is also a member of the legal fraternity Delta Chi and likewise belongs to the Native Sons of the Golden West.
