BERNARD J. DEL VALLE

Bernard J. del Valle, a descendant of one of California’s first families, is a successful representative of the legal profession in Los Angeles, with offices in the Higgins building at 108 West Second street. A native son of Los Angeles, he was here born on the 3d(sic) of October, 1908, and represents a family whose members have figured prominently in California’s development through more than a century, filling many important official positions prior to and following the admission of this state into the Union. Ignacio del Valle served as second alcalde in the city government of Los Angeles under Mexican rule and was elected county recorder of Los Angeles county on the lst of April, 1850. Bernard J. del Valle, whose name introduces this review, is a son of Juventino and Rosa (Bellan) del Valle, the former a native of Los Angeles who was successfully engaged in ranching activities here for many years and passed away in 1910. Mrs. Rosa del Valle, who survives her husband, was born in Illinois and came to California in company with her parents as a very young girl. She makes her home with our subject.

Bernard J. del Valle acquired his early education in the public schools of his native city and completed his high school and college courses at Loyola University of Los Angeles, which institution conferred upon him the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1930 and the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1932. Admitted to the California bar in 1932, he has continued in law practice in the city of Los Angeles to the present time, his clientele steadily growing in volume and importance as he has demonstrated his ability in handling the litigated interests entrusted to his care. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is also identified with Ramona Parlor of the Native Sons of the Golden West, and Knights of Columbus. His religious faith is that of the Catholic Church.
