HUGH
W. DARLING
Hugh W. Darling represents one of
the most successful law firms of Los Angeles County as a junior member of the
firm of Guthrie and Darling, which maintains offices in the Pacific Mutual
building at 523 West Sixth Street in the city of Los Angeles. He was born in Tacoma, Washington, September
4, 1901, a son of Oscar E. and Maude (Taylor) Darling.
Hugh W. Darling acquired his early
education in the public schools of the several cities in which his youth was
passed and eventually entered the University of California at Berkeley. Thereafter he enrolled in the law department
of the University of Southern California at Los Angeles, which conferred upon
him the degree of Bachelor of Laws as a member of the class of 1927. The following year he was admitted to the
California bar and became associated with Stanley W. Guthrie in the practice of
law in Los Angeles under the firm style of Guthrie and Darling, thus forming a
professional relationship which has been maintained with mutual pleasure and
profit to the present time. Mr. Darling
has served as a committee member of the state Bar of California for the past
three years and also belongs to the American Bar Association. His name is likewise on the membership rolls
of the University Club of Los Angeles and he enjoys deserved popularity in both
social and professional circles of his adopted city.
