LEWIS CRUISKSHANK

 

 

      Another member of the California bar who has attained a large measure of success in practice is Lewis Cruickshank, of Los Angeles.

      Mr. Cruickshank is a native of England, and was born in Sheffield in 1884. After attending the public primary schools of Banffshire, Scotland, he came to the United States in 1896 and located at Santa Monica, Calif., where he attended Lincoln High School. He later entered the University of Michigan and engaged in the study of law, graduating with the LL. B. degree in 1908.

      The same year Mr. Cruickshank was admitted to the Michigan bar, but in 1909 returned to California and entered practice alone at Los Angeles. In 1912 he entered into partnership with W. E. SoRelle under the firm name of SoRelle & Cruickshank, the association continuing for two years. He is now senior partner of the firm of Lewis Cruickshank and T. W. Rorke, specializing in probate and corporation law.

      Mr. Cruickshank holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Michigan Alumni Association, all Masonic bodies, California Club, Jonathan Club, El Caballero Country Club, and Southern California Athletic & Country Club. In 1905 he married Grace D. Hendrick and they have two daughters, Dorothy Grace and Barbara.
