THEODORE B.
COSGROVE
Theodore Roosevelt once made the remark that the one thing supremely worth having was the opportunity, together with the capacity, to do well and worthily a piece, of work, the execution of which should be of vital importance to the state and its people. I know of no member of the California bar to whom this could more logically be applied than T. B. Cosgrove, member of the law firm of Hunsaker, Britt & Cosgrove, of Los Angeles.
Mr. Cosgrove is a native of Illinois, and was born in 1881, at Marseilles. After elementary training in public schools of Seneca, Ill., he entered Notre Dame University, which conferred on him the degrees of A. B. and A. M. in 1904. His legal training was received at Yale, from which he took the LL.M. degree in 1907.
From 1908 to 1910 Mr. Cosgrove held the chair of Professor of Law at the University of Illinois, and he then moved to California. In 1914 he became City Attorney of San Diego, in which capacity he served for six years and established an enviable record.
Upon locating at Los Angeles in 1920, Mr. Cosgrove became a member of the present firm of Hunsaker, Britt & Cosgrove, one of the leading law firm of the state. They engage in general civil practice and number among the clientele some of the largest interests in Los Angeles, being Counsel for the Citizens National Bank, Citizens Trust & Savings Bank, J. W. Robinson Company and others.
Mr. Cosgrove holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association and various other organizations. A man of striking personality and a close student of human nature, he has made many friends among his colleagues throughout the state.
