Mr. Chandler is a native of Missouri, and was born at St. Joseph in 1773. He received his preparatory educational training in public schools of St. Louis and Washington, D. He then studied law at Columbian Law School, and in 1894 moved to Los Angeles, where he has since practiced, becoming one of the leading lawyers of the state.
For a number of years Mr. Chandler practiced in partnership with James H. Shankland, under the firm name of Shankland & Chandler, and his present firm was then organized. He has appeared in many important cases in the various courts, and represents as Counsel a number of well known interests.
Mr. Chandler has always taken an active part in all matters pertaining to his profession and has served as President of the Los Angeles Bar Association, as well as of the California State Bar Association. He is also a prominent member of the American Bar Association.
In 1904 Mr. Chandler married Elizabeth Shankland. He holds membership in the Los Angeles City Club, California Club, University Club and Los Angeles Athletic Club.
