IRENE BROOKS
Irene Brooks, a young woman of twenty-three years, is not only successfully engaged in the practice of law but is also a professor of law in Los Angeles. A native of Hungary, she was born July 28, 1912, and is a daughter of Joseph and Grace Brooks. She received her professional training at the Pacific Coast University College of Law in Los Angeles, from which she was graduated with the degree of Juris Doctor in 1932, and in the same year she had the distinction of being the youngest lawyer to be admitted to the California bar. She has since maintained offices in the H. W. Hellman building in Los Angeles and aside from her law practice, which has already assumed gratifying proportions, she is a member of the teaching staff of the Pacific Coast University College of Law. Actively interested I public affairs, she is exerting her influence to bring about the establishment of an adequate transportation system for the people of Los Angeles. She is a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, also belongs to Iota Tau Tau, a legal sorority, and likewise has membership connection with the California Women’s Safety League and the Central Voters Council.
On the 28th of May, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, Irene Brooks became the wife of Dr. B. B. Crombie, a native of England and a professor of physiotherapy and X-ray.
