GEORGE M. BRESLIN
George M. Breslin, attorney, was born October 7, 1895, in Los Angeles, California; the son of Thomas P. and Mary Agnes (Murphy) Breslin.
His early education was obtained in the Los Angeles grade and high schools; then attended Pre-legal Los Angeles Junior College. Graduated from the University of Southern California in 1917 with the LL.B. degree and was admitted to the State Bar of California on June 7 of the same year. Was a member of the Board of Regents of Loyola University of Los Angeles for fifteen years and received an honorary degree of LL.D. from that university in 1930. He is a member of the Board of Directors of California Bank and is the president of Standard Packing Co.
Mr. Breslin entered the general practice of the law at Los Angeles, California, in 1917 in partnership with Joseph Smith, Esq., under the firm name of Smith and Breslin, with whom he remained until 1933. Since 1939 he has been a member of the firm of Bodkin, Breslin & Luddy.
During the First World War he served as ensign with the United States Navy. In 1950, Mr. Breslin received the Papal Decoration of Knight of Malta.
Member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Los Angeles Bar Association (president, 1942-43); Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi; Newman Club; California Club; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (past exalted ruler of Los Angeles Lodge No. 99); Knights of Columbus (fourth degree member); Native Sons of the Golden West; and American Legion.
Mr. Breslin has seven children: George M.., Jr., born April 29, 1920; Marie Helen, born July 23, 1927; Anne Elizabeth, born August 21, 1928; Janet Mae, born September 9, 1929; Barbara Louise, born January 1, 1931; Eileen Agnes, born March 23, 1935; and Carolyn Joan, born June 3, 1939.
