GEORGE BOUCHARD

 

 

            George Bouchard, numbered among the foremost representatives of the legal profession in Southern California, with offices in Los Angeles, specializes in state and federal tax work and is a recognized authority in that branch of practice.  He was born in Trout Lake, Michigan, May 31, 1894, his parents being Harry and Wealth (Gorst) Bouchard, who established their home in Munising, Michigan, when he was still a small child and have maintained their residence in that city to the present time.

            George Bouchard acquired his early education in the public schools of Munising, Michigan, and continued his studies at Lawrence College of Appleton, Wisconsin, from which he was graduated with the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1915.  He attended the University of Wisconsin during the two succeeding years and then returned to his native state to enter the University of Michigan, which in 1921 conferred upon him the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence.  Admitted to the Wisconsin bar at Milwaukee in 1921, he there followed his chosen profession for four years and in 1925 removed to Washington D. C., where he continued in law practice.  In the national capital he was an attorney with the internal revenue department until June 1, 1927, at which date he was sent to Los Angeles, California, where he has remained continuously to the present time, specializing in state and federal tax work.  From June, 1927 to March, 1929 he was the representative of the General Counsel, Bureau of Internal Revenue, in charge of legal work for the Bureau in the territory of west Denver.  In 1929 he resigned to resume the private practice of law.  He is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association and enjoys an enviable reputation among his professional colleagues and contemporaries.

            On the 6th of April, 1918, in Fond de Lac, Wisconsin, Mr. Bouchard was united in marriage to Marion Van Dyke and they are the parents of two children, Jeanne and Patricia.  Mr. Bouchard has many warm friends among his fellow members of the California Club and Los Angeles Country Club.  He is a member of Sigma Phi Upsilon, Delta Theta Phi and Tau Kappa Alpha fraternities.
