WILLIAM HENRY ANDERSON

 

 

      William H. Anderson, member of the law firm of Anderson & Anderson, of Los Angeles, was born in 1866 at Memphis, Tenn. After receiving his preparatory education under private tutors he studied for two years at Southwestern University, then moved to Los Angeles and engaged in the study of law in the office of Anderson, Fitzgerald & Anderson, of which his father was senior member.

      In 1889 Mr. Anderson located at Abilene, Texas, where he practiced law for three years. He then moved to San Francisco, Calif., and was associated with the firm of Estee, Fitzgerald & Miller until 1895, when he became Assistant Attorney General of California, serving for four years. In 1899 and 1900 he was a member of the firm of Fitzgerald & Anderson, and he then returned to Los Angeles, where he has since practiced in partnership with his brother, James A. Anderson, under the firm name of Anderson & Anderson.

      The firm engages in general civil practice, specializing in the law of water rights, and represents as Counsel a number of well known interests, including the San Dimas Water Co., Appleton Land, Water & Power Co., Covina Irrigating Co., San Gabriel River Water Co. and others.

      Mr. Anderson is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Jonathan Club, City Club, Southern California Athletic & Country Club and other organizations. In 1895 he married Jesse  Calhoun.
