JAMES
ARCHIBALD ANDERSON
James A. Anderson, senior member of the firm of Anderson & Anderson, of Los Angeles, has attained a position of prominence among the better known members of the California bar, and has conducted many important pieces of litigation in the more than 40 years during which he has been in practice.
Mr. Anderson is a native of Tennessee, and was born in 1857 at LaGrange. After receiving his preparatory educational training in public schools of his native state he attended the University of Tennessee, graduating with the A. B. degree in 1879. His legal training was obtained through private study, and he was admitted to the bar in 1884.
A short time later he moved to California and located in Los Angeles. His firm engages in general civil practice, specializing in litigation involving water rights, and is accorded an extensive clientele of an important character. They represent as Counsel many well known interests, among which are the San Gabriel Water Committee, Covina Irrigating Company, Appleton Land, Water & Power Company, San Dimas Water Company, and others.
Mr. Anderson holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, which he has served as President. He is also a member of various clubs and other organizations.
