GEORGE W. ADAMS

           

 

            A prominent member of the Los Angeles Bar, George W. Adams maintains his offices in the Title Insurance building, where he does a general practice.  He was born in Monticello, Wisconsin, October 3, 1865, a son of William Thompson and Clara (Blackstone) Adams, who settled in Wisconsin in 1850.

            He attended the State College at Ames, Iowa, and later the university at Iowa City, where he graduated in 1891 with the LL.B. degree; that same year he was admitted to practice before the Iowa bar and continued at his profession in Iowa City until 1903, when he came to Los Angeles and by following closely the ethics of his profession has built up a substantial civil practice.  He has taken an active interest in civic affairs and from 1910 to 1913 served as president of the board of trustees of South Pasadena.  In line with his profession he holds membership in the Los Angeles Bar Association, the California State Bar and the American Bar Associations.  He is a member of the Los Angeles Athletic Club, the Pacific Coast Club and the Sons of the Revolution.

            In 1896, while on a visit to California, Mr. Adams was married to Iva E Binford, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and they have two daughters:  Florence, wife of John W. Westerfield; and Maude C., wife of Dr. Frank S. Chambers, of Los Angeles.
