WILLIAM F.
WILSON
Among the representative and
successful attorneys of Southern California is William F. Wilson, who has been
actively engaged in the practice of law at Brawley during the past twenty-four
years. He was born in Martinsburg, West
Virginia, November 5, 1874, his parents being Isaac F. and Frances (Miller)
Wilson, natives of England, who are now deceased. Isaac F. Wilson crossed the Atlantic to
America as a youth and followed farming in the state of New York prior to his
removal to West Virginia, where he spent the remainder of his life. He is survived by six children.
William F. Wilson studied law in the
states of Nebraska and California in preparation for the work of his chosen
profession. He was admitted to the
California bar in 1908 and engaged in law practice in Los Angeles for three
years, coming in 1911 to Brawley, where he has been actively and successfully
identified with the legal profession to the present time. He is thoroughly familiar with the work of
the courts, possesses a comprehensive understanding of the principles of
jurisprudence and is accorded an extensive and profitable clientele in the
general practice of law. He served as
deputy district attorney of Imperial county, was city attorney of Brawley for
fifteen years and is now city attorney of Calipatria.
In 1924 Mr. Wilson was united in
marriage to Mrs. W. A. Applegate. He is
a member of the Brawley library board and manifests an active and helpful
interest in all civic affairs. In
Masonry he has attained the thirty-second degree of the Scottish Rite, being
now master of Lodge No. 402 F. and A. M., of Brawley, and also a member of Al
Bahr Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., of San Diego.
