ALONZO L. RICHARDON, JR.
Alonzo L. Richardson, Jr., one of the prominent young business men of Eldorado county, is manager of the Pierce Arrow Stages and Hotel of Placerville, California. The latter, which was established originally by Mr. Richardson’s father, is one of the most extensive and best equipped of its type in northern California, and gives proof of the skills and intelligence which has been employed in its management.
Alonzo L. Richardson, Jr., was born in Winnetka, Illinois, July 26, 1905, a son of A. L. and Cora (Fease) Richardson. The family first removed to Pasadena, California, and in 1915 they came north to Placerville, where the father built the Pierce Arrow Hotel and established his stage line, which now is operated between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe, fifteen large stages of the most modern type being operated over this route. The hotel at Placerville has all metropolitan conveniences, and is conducted in the most inviting manner. The Richardsons also own and operate Camp Richardson at Lake Tahoe, which is beautifully situated immediately on the lake, and is equipped to supply all the comforts of a modern hostelry. About one hundred people are employed in the above business.
Alonzo L. Richardson, Jr., was married to Miss Ruth Miller of New York, and they have one child, Carol Evelyn. Mr. Richardson is a democrat politically, and he holds membership in the Masonic Order, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the 20-30 Club. Golf and baseball are his principal hobbies, and he is known as a public-spirited and popular citizen of Eldorado county.
