WILL F.
MORRISH
Will F. Morrish, banker and president of Calvada
Lumber Company and Meadow Valley Lumber Company, was born in Sierra City,
California, February 9,1883; the son of William Baldwin and Eliza Mary
(Richards) Morrish. Student at the
University of California, 1902-03.
Mr. Morrish
started his career in 1898 as an office boy with the Dunham, Carrigan, Hayden Company. He became messenger boy for the
First National Bank, Berkeley, California, in 1903, rising to cashier in 1919,
vice president in 1920 and president from 1922 to 1928; vice president of the
Security Bank & Trust Company, San Francisco, in 1921; vice president of
Bank of America National Trust & Savings Association, 1928 to 1931, and
president from 1931 to 1934. He is now president of Calvad
Lumber Company and Meadow Valley Lumber Company, San Francisco, California. Also director of Capwell, Sullivan &
Furth, and of Macaulay Foundry Company.
Director of Berkeley Chapter of
American Red Cross; director of Berkeley Y.M.C.A.; past president of California
State Board of Prison Directors; past president of California Bankers
Association; and director of Remedial Loan Association, San Francisco.
Member of Academy of Political
Sciences; Methodist Church; Masonic Order (Knight Templar, Shriner);
Sierra Club, Commonwealth Club, San Francisco Commercial Club and Kiwanis Club
of San Francisco. He is a Republican in politics.
Mr. Morrish
married Florence J. Burpee on June 28, 1905, and has
two children: Kendric Burpee
and Josephine Ruth (Mrs. Arthur Beers Johnson).
