MRS. OLIVE SWIFT ROBINSON
MRS. OLIVE SWIFT ROBINSON.—As the proprietor of the Main Street Beauty Parlor, at Chico, Cal., Mrs. Robinson is well an favorably known as a successful business woman. She was born in Chico, a daughter of A. M. and Mary (Brown) Swift, the former a native of Napa County, and the latter of Butte County, a daughter of Mrs. Fannie (Neil) Brown, who was a daughter of the pioneer, Samuel Neil, an Argonaut, who crossed the plains with ox teams to help build up California. A. M. Swift was a farmer, and he and his wife were parents of three children, of whom Olive was the oldest.
Olive Swift was educated in Chico and was graduated from the Chico High School, and the Chico State Normal in 1913. She taught for a short time, then decided she would take up the study of hairdressing and manicuring. She went to Sacramento and took a course under Charles Werner, who is located on Eighth between J and K Streets in that city, and she remained there until 1917, when she returned to Chico and established her present place of business. Her parlors are conveniently located at No. 214 Main Street, and are elegantly furnished and equipped for the conduct of her particular line of business. She has the agency for all kinds of toilet articles and beauty powders that are used by milady of today. Mrs. Robinson is now studying dermatology under Madame Adele Millar of San Francisco.
Miss Swift was united in marriage with Everett Robinson, in Sacramento. He was born in Nebraska and is associated with the Richvale Land Company of Chico. Mrs. Robinson is widely known and a bright and successful future is predicted for her by her many friends.
