MISS MABEL A. KELLOM, D. C.
MISS MABEL A. KELLOM, D. C.—A Chiropractor representing the most advanced attainments of her interesting and beneficent science, and one especially endowed with a sympathetic and winning temperament, is Mabel A. Kellom, D. C., the daughter of Daniel Kellom, who was born at Hillsboro Bridge, N. H., the son of Ruel Kellom. Her father was a farmer who came to Wisconsin and then to Plainview, Minn., where he married Mary A. Ensign, who was born at Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wis., a member of a New York State family. In 1898, Daniel Kellom pushed on to California and located at Chico, opening a harness business at the Junction, and this he managed for two years, when he sold out and retired. He died in 1910, survived by his widow and eight children: George, living at Fresno; Emma, who is Mrs. Carley, in Canada; Alfred, who resides at Seattle; Mabel A., the subject of our sketch; Arthur, who lives at Sacramento; Luperla, who is Mrs. Glenn; and Horace and John, living in Chico.
Born and reared in Minnesota, Mabel Kellom from a girl was interested in nursing and in helping sick people, and so came to study at, and graduate from, the Fabiola Training School for Nurses at Oakland, in 1906. She followed her professional work in that city until her father died in 1910, and then came to Chico and continued as a nurse until 1913. Having become interested in Chiropractic, she entered, in that year, the Carver Chiropractic College in Oklahoma City, and in June of 1915 graduated with the degree of D. C. Soon afterward she returned to Chico, and has since practiced the science of Drugless Healing. Always a favorite socially, Miss Kellom is a member of Josephine Chapter, O. E. S.
