CLIFTON L. BOYLE
One
of the leading educators of the Sacramento Valley is Clifton L. Boyle, who is
the city superintendent of elementary schools at Oroville. He is possessed of splendid educational equipment
for his work in the field of his choice, and he holds an influential and
honored position in his profession.
Mr.
Boyle was born in Mendocino City, California, January 31, 1895, and was there
reared to young manhood. He attended the
elementary and high schools of Mendocino City, and then took up his advanced
studies at San Jose State College, from which he graduated. He has since supplemented this training with
summer school and extension work at the San Francisco State College and at the
University of California.
Mr.
Boyle is a veteran of the World War, having served from the beginning of the
United States’ participation therein until March 4, 1919, when he was honorably
discharged. He was a sergeant, first
class, and was attached to the 322nd and the 116th Field
Signal Battalion. He served overseas in
France for one year, including six weeks in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. At Ukiah, California, on June 13, 1921,
occurred the marriage of Clifton L. Boyle and Miss Eleanor Pada. Both Mr. and Mrs. Boyle are members of the
Community Church at Oroville, and the former belongs to the Fellows Luncheon
Club and also holds membership in the Tau Delta Phi collegiate fraternity.
