CHESLEY
MATHEW WALTER
Chesley Mathew Walter, attorney, was born November 19,
1889, in Savanna, Illinois; the son of John and Catherine (Duffy) Walter.
His preparatory and legal education
was obtained at University of Illinois where he received his LL.B. degree.
Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1911, Iowa bar in 1919, and California bar in
1931.
Mr. Walter is in practice of the law
at Oakland, California, practicing individually.

California, Alameda County Bar Association, American Bar Association; Apartment
House Association; Pan-American Association; past commander, American Legion;
Oakland Chamber of Commerce; Kiwanis International; Commonwealth Club; past
national treasurer, Order of the Coif; American Interprofessional

College of Arts and Crafts; member Advisory Board, Salvation Army; past

In 1912 Mr. Walter married Fannie Machen and has one child: David Oakley Walter. In 1941,
married Dorothy Mills Smith.
